The Spring 2022 edition of MDFA's Vision Voice newsletter is out now!

In this edition of the Vision Voice newsletter, we're excited to share the news that the proposed eye injection MBS rebate cute has been rejected!

Prior to the May federal election, both major political parties rejected an independent recommendation to cut the Medicare rebate for sight-saving eye injections, which threatened to blind 47,000 Australians. The voice of the macular disease community has been heard in Canberra.

MDFA welcomes Dr Kathy Chapman as our new CEO. Kathy brings with her a strong commitment to working in the for-purpose sector in public health and promoting inclusion for people with disabilities.
Also in this edition of Vision Voice, we share new research which has shown that the updated AREDS2 (Age-Related Eye Disease Study #2) supplement formula is both safer and better at slowing the progression of AMD than the original AREDS formula – reassuring news for the macular disease community.

Read how MDFA is running new Peer Support groups into Western Australia, as well as hosting a whole week of webinars throughout October.

You can read the newsletter on our website today, or listen to an audio version.
