SEED Appoints Capricornia as ANZ Distributor

SEED Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Capricornia as exclusive distributor of SEED’s contact lens products for Australia and New Zealand.

Capricornia is a well-established Australian manufacturer and distributor of prescription contact lenses including RGP, soft and scleral lenses. Exceling at contact lens design and manufacture, Capricornia has unparalleled expertise to provide technical support for contact lens fitting that will add tangible value to optometrists who fit the latest generation of SEED contact lenses.

SEED’s CEO Masahiro Urakabe says, “It is exciting to have Capricornia on board as its exclusive distributor in Australia and New Zealand. We have had great success with our daily disposable products since launching our products in Australia three years ago. Our partnership with Capricornia is a logical next step to strengthen our position as a contact lens supplier. Our aim is to supply the best-in-class contact lens products and through Capricornia we can increase the level of service to our optometrist partners.”

SEED’s ANZ General Manager William Tse says, “It especially makes sense when it comes to SEED’s flagship lens SEED 1dayPure EDOF, a daily disposable soft contact lens that utilises BHVI’s patented optics. There is a lot of synergy with our product and Capricornia’s existing product portfolio. Optometrists will benefit by being able to source and seek technical support for our products from a well-established Australian company for all their specialty lens needs.”

Optometrists will be able to order SEED products from Capricornia starting 1st July 2022. SEED welcomes Capricornia to its global distribution network and looks forward to a fruitful collaboration to provide great products and service to optometrists.

SEED is a Japanese contact lens manufacture, with humble beginnings in 1951 when it first started researching contact lenses. Best known for its precision manufacturing, it employs strict quality management of the 1dayPure daily disposable soft contact lenses production at its SEED Konosu Research Institute in Japan.

The past 11 years had seen the company expand from Japan with the aim to provide eye care and products to benefit optometry patients globally. SEED products are now available from more than 40 countries worldwide.
