Glaucoma Australia Website Now Provides 100+ Foreign Languages
Glaucoma Australia now provides an even more inclusive online experience to enable website visitors to access online content in a way that best suits their needs.
As part of its strategy to be the authoritative source of glaucoma education in Australia, visitors to the Glaucoma Australia website are now able to access a wide range of accessibility and language support tools to customise their digital experience through Recite Me assistive technology.
Being able to offer an inclusive experience is essential to support the 4.4 million Australians1 who have a disability and therefore may encounter barriers online as well as those who speak English as a second language.
The Recite Me assistive toolbar on the Glaucoma Australia website includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customisable styling options and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text to speech.
Richard Wylie, Glaucoma Australia CEO commented, “Providing an inclusive and accessible website has always been important to us at Glaucoma Australia, but it hasn’t always been easy to achieve. The implementation of Recite Me’s innovative assistive technology has not only improved our accessibility tools, it has also added over 100 foreign languages to our website allowing us to provide glaucoma information and education to even more Australians.”
The internet can be an incredibly intimidating place for those with access barriers, and those lacking the tools they need to adequately understand or communicate are at a significant disadvantage.
Ross Linnett Recite Me’s Founder and CEO commented, “It is important to provide an inclusive online experience, where everyone can use our digital world in a way in which best suits their needs. As more organisations provide accessibility tools online, those who face online barriers can access information and services hassle-free. The digital world must be accessible for all.”
